Part 2 of the ongoing project series, "The Legacy Project" just dropped. In this episode we complete a shakedown of the 1991 Subaru Legacy with a visit to a remote part of Canada to meet a Subaru enthusiast that defies the tuner stereotype.
In this first of a series, we meet the new project car and immediately head out on a 600-mile shakedown round-trip, from Seattle to Keremeos, BC, Canada. Can this old Subaru Legacy with more than 250,000 miles on the odometer make it in once piece? Plus, a preview of things to come.
The Imprezaís interior packaging is outstanding, especially when you put friends (whom you want to remain your friends) in the backseat. Recent *improvements have made it quieter inside. The ride is more comfortable than in some pricier cars. It drinks more fuel than its peers, but youíre getting all-wheel drive as a benefit. We donít like the slackness and drone of most continuously variable transmissions, but with recent *improvements Subaru has managed to mask those quirks. Subaru also has finally embraced the need for a contemporary infotainment system.
