Yeah, I see them all over the place. Most tuner shops should carry them... Only drawback is you gotta trade in your car for a Civic.

I'm still talking to this guy about making them, so MAYBE. I'll post if he says they can do it.

sorry, but i think the best solution is to buy a lexus if you want thoes tail lights so bad. this is a example. how do you feel when you see something like a ford probe with a 22b wing,hood scoop, and vents from a impreza on it.

C'mon guys step off it. Using parts from other cars has been a part of customizing cars since the beginning. Just because you don't like one particular part doesn't mean is bad or R2D2. You don't even know what the hell R2D2 is. How do Altezza make your car look faster? Does anybody think they make your car faster? NO You are giving your UNSOLICITED opinion. So *&%^ off.

It's not so much that R2D2-Boy is trying to make his car look good. There are lots of people out there who just want to make their car look good, and don't care about speed at all. R2D2-Boy, however, says that he is making his modifications to enhance his car's performance, when really, all he cares about is fitting some sort of image.

no, to each their own when its not one of my cars! There will be no spanish food on any i-club members car :) Go buy a civic or somthing, they have lots of clear tail lights, and single import tuner custom windshield wipers, and import tuner custom chrome rims... but that stuff doesn't exisit for subarus..why? because its not a chinese food car.

While I feel the "altezza" style lights are definetly R2D2, on some cars they do look good. Some people dont like my Morrettes, I do. It comes down to personal taste, and we are not in the position to dictate this guys style.....Personally, Im glad no one makes them (Altezza's). All clear would be fine, in fact if they made all blacked out ones, I'd buy a set.....

You would be wrong Leo. Considering there are no Impreza's with Altezzas and half the members here have STis.

thing is, that the STI lights are STOCK on some of the models, and they look better than the red/amber because it gives it an "updated" look, since amber looks pretty updated on tailights..

altezzas are just ghetto fab and made very poorly

Well, make sure you keep it cheap, because if its a heavy pr2d2 then no one will buy it. Of course, you can see it would probably not just sell once or twice, but thr2d2.

please leave the is300 style lights to the IS300's.... besides the people who make these lights for other cars make very crappy quality products, HELL there is even a national recall for APC altezzas by the NHSTA

PhlypSide, while it doesn't bother you, it did and does bother alot of people. In the interest of keeping things friendly, we ask that it is not used, though that doesn't mean people won't use it anyway... Because this particular forum contains topics that lend to brandishing of the word 'rice' on a constant basis, and topics usually go downhill fast once that word is mentioned, I edit the word out of posts instead of just having to lock a thread that gets out of control. This has been thus far the most civilized discussion on this topic, and the only one I can think of thus far that hasn't had to be locked.

I agree with many people here that the Altezza sytle lights look really bad, but that's just my opinion. It's your car and you're free to do with it as you please. If you really want someone to make them for the WRX try writing letters to the manufacturers of the lights suggesting it. If there's enough demand, they'll make them.

As far as them being R2D2 ... I don't think that by themselves they are R2D2y, but they're usually found on cars that have other "mods" that are undeniably R2D2y, so they've been lumped in with those mods and become R2D2 by association.

good job NU :) But lock this post, i odnt want some (sometimes brown or white food, very small..comes with lots of spanish/chinese foods) ers getting ideas and makin these lights for our cars :)

sorry bro, those lights are the first thing I think of when I think of (that food that is good with ham..ahhh man, I love ham and that bad word :) ) . STI wings are made for Subarus, wrx decals are made for subarus, TOYOTA lights are made for toyota's. why not just put a GT-R sticker on ur car..same thing.

I dunno... you can slap NOS on pretty much anything to make it fast (in a straight line). Those rear graphics are a bit eXcessive, no? :)

I agree with garrick, put NOS on ur car and blow the doors off that 125hp car :)
Btw, what is he running? a 100hp kit? Why is he beating you guys? Are your cars stock or autos?

But back to the topic at hand, to each their own in terms of style... but please there are enough terrible Altezza light copies/conversions in the world already... get some STi or other real Scooby stuff for your Scooby, you'll thank yourself for it in the long run...

jay25rs: The Altezzas aren't too bad on the EK9 Civic HBs but the principle is still there... if you own car made by Brand X, don't go putting accessories from or accessories to make your car look like car made by Brand Y on there...

BTW: People are constantly "Hybrid-izing" parts from my other car onto their cars. Oh the hassle of being a Toyota owner. LOL!!!

Keith, our cars our 5spd and yes we know how to drive them. Of course his car is no match for ours in the twisties :D I don't exactly remember what kit he is running, I will find out the next time I see him.

eheh, thats bad though, how fast could that car be. Unless hes running 100hp kit (killing his engine) I dont see how he can beat you. With a 1.6 lt engine, he should be running a 50hp kit, 75 at the MOST and even still, she shouldn't be whipping on you. what does he run in the 1/4 mile?I assume hes been there...where else does he run that nos?

well dude in all fairness, if he's running a 50 shot, he would have around 175hp, in that light ass hatch body, it will kill a 2.5RS in a straight line..

I'm sorry Keith, but that's a weak arguement at best. Just because Toyota used them first doesn't make them only theirs. I'm sure that some company used red/clears before everyone else, so are we all rice boys? The new RX-8s and Lightnings come with that style of tailight, are they r2d2 as well? Obviously both those vehicles are faster than a WRX and certainly an RS, but they are using "Toyota lights." It's a wonder Toyota doesn't sue. :p

Now now, don't make too much light of the whole "copying the style" sort of thing... large companies have sued in the past and won for this sort of "borrowing of style/image"...

A recent example that comes to mind is how Apple corporation sued eMachines (IBM PC clonemaker out of Taiwan I think...) for borrowing too heavily off of the style and styling cues of the iMac. Apple won.

BTW, now that I think of it, I've got a cool (well depending on how geeky you are) new analogy:

Altezza lights are to cars as iMac translucent pastels are to computers and computer accessories.

I do loathe the lights. but it is a spiral that cannot be avoided.

Imagine the first person to put a calvin peeing sticker on his/her vehicle. You drove past him and said that is cool. I want one too. Your sister's highschool's friend's teacher's nephew sees you drive by and says that is so cool, I want one too. Before you know it a good idea is viewed as bad to all the people who think it is bad ONLY becuz everyone has them. No one was knocking Jordans when every balla was wearing em. Dood, that is wack! everyone has those kicks... you just a hoopa.

The moral of this story kids is as a society we face a crippling paradox of individuality versus cohesion. We are a society of individuals, in its one a contradiction. For a society thinks as one for the betterment of the society, which an individual attempts to define himself by resisting conformity. But then enough individuals become non-conformists and the the different become similar and many steps of a journey lead you full circle to the place where you started.
