View Full Version : Hello! I'm new here!
Just like to say a hello, and mention how nice this board looks so far.
I'm sort of a board hopper, (read: not a troll) being members of honda-acura.net, off-topic.net, newcelica.org, supraforums.com, is300.net, acura-tl.com, ls6.com, and prolly a few others I've missed.
Needless to say I love all cars. Scoobies included. You all have very nice rides, and I look forward to enjoying your company.
btw anyone wanna guess what I drive?
Kenny
T-WRX 09-25-2000, 06:42 PM Does it still have training wheels on it?

I'm new too, but welcome aboard! I bet you drive a 1996 Supra TT (or wish you did).
JD
Honestly who doesn't want to drive a Supra TT? They're fast as hell!
Here's a hint, if I raced a Scoobie, it'd be pretty close.
North Ursalia 09-25-2000, 06:49 PM Don't know what you drive, but by your UBB name, you have physics in your blood...
munkis 09-25-2000, 06:49 PM Welcome to the board, Let me tell you this is the best board of all, though I dont go to any other boards, I still say this is the best. hehe, just from what ive seen of other guys posting about the other boards. So stick with us and youll learn alot, ive learned a great deal from these scooby nuts, Im very glad to have stumbled accross this club many moons ago. well more like 7-8 months ago. hehe. Have fun surfing the board.

But even if you do drive a Civic, welcome to the board http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

Welcome aboard... the board.

Don't know what you drive, but by your UBB name, you have physics in your blood...
http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif You bet. Aerospace engineering/Propulsion to be exact.
Civic? Naw, but an Si was under consideration...
JGard 09-25-2000, 06:58 PM Finally, another physics guy!!!! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif glad to have ya!
Hey another aerospace propulsion guy! Do you drive a 'teg?
Overtime 09-25-2000, 07:08 PM Even *I* know force is equal to mass times acceleration. And I don't consider myself a physics guy. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
My guess...maybe an Accord? That or a Teg.
Well here it is, its not modded much at all and the pix are outdated:

So far, I've got done a Cold Air intake, Comptech Dual Exhausts, Neuspeed Springs, 18" Katana Concept 5's in 225/40ZR18's, and a pair of Kenwood 10"s on a RF 360a2. It puts around 240 hp at the crank... (With the vtec sticker on of course lol)
I've done just about all those mods this past summer. Along with little things like a different steering wheel/shiftknob, 35% metallic tint, carbon fiber emblems, and a custom front grill...
I'm happy with it, but it could be peppier. I've gtech'd it at 7.05 0-60 and 15.52 1/4. Not bad for a grocery getter, but my goal is somewhere in the 6's and 14's. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif and around 280-290 hp at the crank. (All in good time though)
Yeah you'd be surprised how many ppl don't know F=ma, geez.
Though the Type R never crossed my mind, now that I think about it in retrospect, it would have been very nice. I miss the widespread aftermarket. Most tuners for the TL have a monopoly on the parts. Mugen makes very little, and its very pricey. Comptech is here in the US, but their prices are high as well... $600 for an axleback exhaust, and $1000+ for headers.
(Mugen charges $1200+ for just an axleback exhaust)
How much nicer it would have been to mod an Si or an ITR...
But I'm happy, and that's all that matters.
T-WRX 09-25-2000, 07:50 PM Beautiful car, I admire your taste. If it came in a stick, I'd of been all over it. Since you like sedans, the new WRX may just be your cup of tea.
When I was a poor college lad (assuming from your em address) I was happily driving an '86 civic. I loved that little fellow -- 90 HP doesn't seem so bad when the car weighs < 2000 lbs. I killed it with abuse (broke a camshaft). sniff.
The TL's do look best in silver and black.
JD
GA Techie?! I am from Marietta and just about all of my friends went there. Have you ever seen a 1971 red Cutlass conv. running around campus? It had a white top but is black now.....it's loud as hell (and would be quick if the engine didn't lunch itself), so you'd probably know it if you saw it. He was in the homecoming parade last year I think. Anyway, welcome aboard.
Keiho 09-25-2000, 08:43 PM Nice car!! Friend just bought one in black...very nice..love the HID http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif Tasteful upgrades you've done to it as well...great car!! Thought your wheels were Racing Harts though.. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
RidinLow 09-25-2000, 08:48 PM F=ma, glad you've finally decided to come over from Honda-Acura.net.
I've been telling those guys how great we are over here! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
Yeah I'm a Ramblin Wreck... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif
Hmmmmm your buddy owns a cutlass... I wouldnt know if I saw it or not. Mostly imports catch my eye more than anything... Especially competition, being a few E46 3 series, and a Type S on campus...
Yeah the HID's, Sportshift, Leather, and power everything sold me on this car.
I revved on a scoobie once, I was in front him thought at a light, and I saw him smile. He didn't race though, prolly cause he was with his girl. I'd like to run up against one some day. I absolutely love the styling.
RidinLow
F=ma, glad you've finally decided to come over from Honda-Acura.net.
I've been telling those guys how great we are over here!
You bet! I've got to establish my post count here. (3500 lol) http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif I see you've got a ton over here as well, ahahah.
Being in school I'm pretty sure that is force = mass x acceleration. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif Correct me if I'm wrong. I hope I get an "A" on this quiz http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif

Buttsy 09-26-2000, 03:22 PM Hey, I just got my BS in Aerospace Engineering. Does G-Tech have a bachelors and/or masters program in Aerospace Propulsion? Once I got into it, propulsion was the way I wanted to go, but I decided I could tackle it later if I had to.
Nice car!
