I have a computer, and 36lb injectors for that car ! All you need is a 3bar fuel pressure reg from a NA c900. The APC boost control box is under the rear back seat... I know all the tricks ![]() !!!!! |

700 miles on the beast with all bugs worked out (random ghost CEL's). I think Im going to change the oil this weekend around 1000miles give or take 100. Im then going to lower timing, set the boost to about 8-10psi, and monitor AFR's. Ill play with that for 500 miles then its game on.
Im breaking the motor in so far with no boost. After 300 miles I started to slowly accelerate to 4-5k RPM in every gear, still with no boost. By the end of this week I plan on hitting 6k RPM every so often, again with out boost. Junior, if you see this, when do you think you will have time with customers and SEMA and all. Let me know! |

mikey: break her in with boost, you gotta seat those rings...you were already supposed to have run her hard bro. Trust me, if she's going to break, it's going to break. You gotta break in these motors like they are oem; run them really hard but with a regiment.

Indeed. You gotta start hitting a little boost here and there. As stated, you need to seat the rings nicely. |

I have 950 miles on my new motor; I hit 10lbs every chance I get[I hit boost in first 5 miles]So far no oil used and motor pulls good for 10lbs[22 inchs at idle]
3076R, kelford cams, JE coated pistons etc.No boost for 1000 makes no sense. I used to break in chev. drag race motors ; 1easy pass/ than full power pass[motors lasted a full season ] |

please boost the piss out of it, dave buschur does no break in miles...he builds them and tunes them on the dyno! He has been building the evo engines for almost 20 years; our ej257 is no different. Boost her brother, yesterday! edit: glad to see you will be on the dyno tonight, let 60lb/min rip...no point in the hta 68, break her in on what you will be boosting big on..the t60r |

I am excited to see the results, as far as motor break in...I have always heard it both ways. With my STi I was pretty easy on it for the first 500 miles then it was game on after that. I have never had any issues with blow by either....so I dunno.
