I already recieved the new flex joint (not the complete midpipe) so im going to make the change in a local exhaust shop.
Is there anything to consider about the installation? Any tips would me appreciated.

Nothing much special about it, your exhaust shop will just need to cut out the old flex, and weld in the new flex. Thanks!

That doesn't sound like the exhaust whistle, the whistle happens when you are on the gas at high boost. Maybe that's your blow off valve?

Or, if you have hardened front/rear bushings, I notice more noise from the transmission

Quick question: I just ordered a CBE on Nov 1 during your awesome sale (thanks). It shipped yesterday Nov 4. Am I correct in assuming that mine as well as all further newly purchased CBEs will have the new midpipe?

All the new catbacks that we've been shipping out have the new flex pipe, so you don't need to worry. On Wednesday, we shipped out a ton of WRX sedan and hatchback exhausts!

We pulled all of the exhausts with the whistling flex off the shelf immediately after finding out about the problem.

Great customer service from perrin. catching and fixing this problem as fast as they did was awesome.

love the sound of my 09 WRX even better now that that whitle is gone. All i hear now is boxer rumble.
