Rode with a buddy of mine into a fairly big all cars welcome weekly meet. He has a dogbox 5speed. We pulled into the meet, whining gears, clacking 1st to 2nd, the whole 9 yards.

Guy: Man, it sounds like you need some gear oil.
Car owner: No, that's just my dogbox.
Guy: ooo, that's not good.
Me: dude, you don't know what that is... do you?

the dogbox is mainly known by the world known gears from 'ppg' they actually make clutchless shifting is easily done with the dog engagement boxes. And the power handling characteristics surpass any other 5mt option for the subarus... Theyre avail with or without synchroes in helical and then straight cut. Its obvious because the straight gears are so loud anyone who hears them thinks theres a gearbox problem...

This is from another thread in the OT. It should show you what straight cut gears sound like.

I think he might be at the wrong track, wrong race or something. There is no way he should be that much faster than everyone else.

I had someone ask me in a late 90s civic if I wanted to race. I think he regrets it now.

i drove from long island to Boston yesterday... i've made this drive a couple times, but this time, i managed to receive about 5 thumbs ups from random guys in explorers, bimmers, ect.

one guy in a 5 series pulls up to me, knocks in his window, and points to an M3 2 cars ahead. i took that as "go race him!" haha.
+1 ego boost
