hey guys,
i am about to order the Volk LE28N's in 18x8.5 in gun metal +47m, and i i am getting the RT-615 for them in 245, should i go 40 or 35 for a better hieght, i will be autocrossing and spending time on some tracks as well this summer?

Stock overall diameter: 24.9"

This is a good point, but you need to have some auto-x's under your belt to see if it's a real need or not. Also, raising the overall diameter will reduce your torque to the wheels.

What? Go shorter so you get better gearing since you'll likely be in 2 gears the entire time either way. I say get the smallest sidewall you can. Might want to ask for opinions on sccaforums.com to see who you should listen to, though.

wrx and sti have really different gears. ;)

go with the 40 aspect ratio as it will be a more compliant ride.
