On the amusing side, both the mechanic and the shop owner both took turns testing the STI, while I was in Boston, claiming it was smooth all the way through 6th gear

Yeah, I almost bought a set of takeoffs that were advertised (and priced) as "perfect". Some due diligence revealed that all four had been damaged by a tire shop, and that the seller wasn't happy with the refinishing job. Not what I'd call "perfect" and definitely not worth "perfect" pricing. Needless to say, I passed.

you should slap the people who drove your car for saying it even pulls hard in sixth gear. Id be so pissed hearing that some random jerkoff went joyriding in my car like that
