I notice that there seems to be 5 gears :)

What I mean, you hear all gears, but when settling down to cruising, there is an extra drop in rpms in 4th gear. Is that the TC locking up?

Yes..

You can monitor this by tapping the lockup solenoid line from the TCU with a voltmeter. When volts come above 8.5 (off the top of my head) the TC is locked up. Below it's not locked.

And yes, the reverse relationship is true. Jam 8.5 volts to the solenoid, and you'll lock it up. But that's another topic, with many caveats.

Ok. I which I could use monitoring tool to see all of these changes w/ the 4EAT.

west_minist -- you're not in St. Marten are you? I saw a couple WRX's driving around (some pre- 02, one modified '02 with Morette headlights) when I was there this week.

Not at all. I'm in Barbados.

We have maybe 2-3 auto wrx. Not sure if I can tune one, but it would be interesting to see how there work?
