I know this subject has been beaten to death, but I need my car working by tomorrow. I have just reinstalled the tranny and I need fluid, I have gone to 5 different local stores. I bought some dino - 75w-90 then realized once I got back it was for limited slips. Otherwise the only 75-90 i can find is synthetic, or the only dino oil i can find that would fit the application is 80-90. Will putting in the limited slip gear oil hurt the tranny? I ordered redline but it isnt here, and this needs to be done. Thanks everyone.

search 'scotty cocktail' and you'll find all you need to know- it's been rehashed here in several threads, so that's probably the explanation for the lack of response.... I wouldn't put anything made for a limited slip in your transmission.

Thats all I wanted, I know what the cocktail is, as I stated my new fluid isnt here yet and I need to drive tomorrow. But thanks for your help in asking me to search

Well if you'd read up enough to know what Scotty's cocktail is all about, I figured you'd know that limited-slip fluid has additives made for just that, a limited-slip diff. Not the synchros on your tranny. Scotty has stated that 80w-90 will work as well, so if you've got dino 80w-90 you should be ok. At any rate, you're welcome...
