So I buy this Apexi' avcr from this kid, we meet up and everything seems fine. I look at the AVCR and it looks good, no scratches and all the wiring seemed to be there, when I get home I notice the harness has been cut, I figure no big deal simple wiring. So a month later my long awaited turbo arrives custom built from FP and I am ready to get tuned on my new setup, mind you it's Xotic Motorsports in PA, which borders DE and is almost 2 hrs away. As you know, Xotic motorsports is a highly known subaru shop and well known on nasioc, Andy the owner personally installed everything and built my car. He is also the one who took the avcr apart and diagnosed the problem, and I trust him being the best subaru installer/tuner around! So, installs done and we get it strapped on the dyno, plug in the AVCR and guess what! The mother****er is fried, the kid who I bought this from cut the wiring harness while it was still powered and the scree will not show a display, so it's useless. Mind you that this AVCR wasnt much and only cost $250, now I am not hurting for money so it's not money I am seeking. I want this kid to not be able to buy/sell anything on this forum again for what he did. I am just pissed I had to get my car setup on wastegate pressure and drive it home, only to buy a brand new AVCR for $450 and spend another day in PA. Now my car is supposed to be in the paint shop right now but guess what, it isnt because this kid sold me some beat ass ebc and now I had to waste 2 weeks time. I still got this kids adress and phone number so if he doesnt make up for it somehow, I will post it in this thread and leave it up to everyone. End of my rant, thanks alot kid for ****ing my car up and I could really care less with your stock subaru with broken ass transmission.

I can 100% confirm this. I saw avcr in person, its clear he just cut the harness and in turn the power and ground at the same time while connected to the battery. It shorted the board right out. We have pics of the avcr controller board to post up soon. You can even see marks on the bottom where the kid tried to crack open the casing because he knew he screwed it up.

Beware of kids selling parts. Generally they abuse parts and don't pay to install correctly. Short cut specialists with little to no knowlege for the ost part.

Aside from all of this have you tried contacting Apexi to see if they will warrenty out the part. I've dealt with them directly in the past and they are very helpful.

I bought a brand new avcr, I didn't have time since I was in PA strapped on the Dyno. I just ran to a speed shop and bought another one on the spot.
