Changed from RE070 to RT 615 245/45/17.

First impression is the side walls are NOWHERE as stiff as the RE070. What sort or ajustment to the suspension will I have to make. Currently have Flex's, 32mm FSB and -2.5 camber front, stock in rear, stock camber. Was running 38-40 psi in RE070's, what should I start with the Falkens? Any help would be appreciated. BTW run in STU.

Believe it or not, some very good drivers are using low pressures, even with the softer side walls ... low 30's, for max grip. Others, 38/38

Thank I'll try both. Really different feel than the 070's. The 070 transition extremely well, I can really feel the side walls squirming.

RE070 > 615's IMO.

Won't see the national competitors on 070 for a reason and every tire made is gonna feel softer than the 070. Feel doesn't equal grip. You just need to provide steering inputs a little earlier.

This response is to the RE070 > 615 post

On the street and driving feel I have to agree. We'll see which is faster though.

i will have to ask as i was thinking this tonight about my tires (same size). what width wheel are they on?
im going to speculate that on a 9" wheel you will not have the sidewall moving as much. on an 8" wheel the 615 in 245 width is squezed about 1.25" causing some bulging in the sidewall. that bulge has to go somewhere before the tire can work in a corner.

my $.02

Good point, I was thinking about that too. Don't seem to bulge much though. No 225's on my old WRX with stock wheels BULGED. Probably be looking at getting wider rims, but it defeats the entire reason I went to STU. One set of wheels and tires. Plus the thought of replacing my beautiful BBS's makes Jesus cry.

full tread 615's? it's not the sidewall you feel squirming, it's the tread blocks. there is a reason nearly everyone that is nationally competitive is running these tires shaved.

as for setup changes, you did not mention your spring rates. however, more static camber and a LOT of roll stiffness seems to work really well on these tires. my civic is really stiff in roll and going from 2.7 degress static camber to 3.7 degrees static camber still showed an improvement in peak g's and driving feel. that's not just SOP feedback either, the data logger confirms.
