If you get tuned for get a custom map made and then tuned again for 100 octane (for track days), will it then be fine to swap the map back and forth when you swap maps for the right gas in the tank?

Isn't that the point of getting 2 maps made for you? Weakness 05-29-2006, 04:33 PM Hey... I'm just asking. I'm new to the tuning world. Volkswagens were chip only and unless you went stand alone engine management, your configuration was fixed. waktasz 05-29-2006, 05:08 PM That's what's cool about the AP. You have way more map options that you can change on the fly. Even without getting pro-tuned there are a bunch of real time and base maps to choose from. turbo tecnica 05-29-2006, 05:11 PM Yep... you can get one protune for your regular pump gas setup, and then get a second map made for race gas and when you want to run race gas, you just switch over to that map (realtime map) and when you wanna go back, then you switch back. You can have up to 10 maps I think it is stored in the AP. When I had one in my old WRX I loved it... every week I'd plug it in and check for CEL's and whatnot... handy little tool. Mine gets delivered on Thursday this week. Unabomber 05-29-2006, 07:30 PM If you post in the right forum, I bet you'll get better answers. |
