Jaxx 05-31-2006, 12:08 PM stock wrx sedan w/ rs endlinks HndaTch627 05-31-2006, 02:33 PM no use the WRX Wagon with the RS endlinks, you can use the the Sedan one but it's going to be a bitch to line up, the wagon one fits correctly. Jeremy sith 05-31-2006, 05:41 PM spot on, HndaTch, thx for the info, is that what u have on your gc8? also is there any canadian vendors that stock aftermarket swaybars? thx .sith. greenemac2003 05-31-2006, 06:30 PM Or, you could buy a 91-94 legacy turbo front swaybar. It WILL work with the 91-94 turbo legacy xmember. I bought the 22mm 91-94 turbo legacy swaybar from Cusco and it works great...AND IT'S BLUE, if that matters... subbyspeed 05-31-2006, 07:24 PM I bought the 22mm 91-94 turbo legacy swaybar from Cusco and it works great...AND IT'S BLUE, if that matters... exactly what i have to. And i love it. :) HndaTch627 06-01-2006, 03:48 AM spot on, HndaTch, thx for the info, is that what u have on your gc8? also is there any canadian vendors that stock aftermarket swaybars? thx .sith. i am actually using a WRX sedan bar with a "custom" set of enlinks...custom being that each one is bent approx 25-30 degrees outward where it meets the sway bar. the sedan bar is wider then the wagon one making it a real bitch to put together properly. It will work but it's quite an experience getting it in there just right. Jeremy sith 06-01-2006, 09:33 AM hah..turns out that on the subframe my engine came on has a 2001 sti swaybar, so it would be the sedan, i think i'm going to try and get that working.. thanks for all the help guys .sith. moss 06-01-2006, 09:52 AM no use the WRX Wagon with the RS endlinks, you can use the the Sedan one but it's going to be a bitch to line up, the wagon one fits correctly. Jeremy WRX sedan bar + GC8 Aluminun a-arms = win :p HndaTch627 06-01-2006, 02:31 PM WRX sedan bar + GC8 Aluminun a-arms = win :p :furious: whenever you feel tired of those just send them my way, i'd be happy to pay postage ;) sith 06-01-2006, 04:24 PM WRX sedan bar + GC8 Aluminun a-arms = win :p can u explain this? in the earilier post it says the wrx sedan sway wont fit easily.. what does aluminum control arms have to do with it? .sith. NicFunkadelic 06-01-2006, 07:16 PM I dropped an ej22t crossmember into my 99 RS, and the swaybar appears to bolt up just fine. I kept the power steering rack from the RS, as well as the control arms, and everything else. The swaybar fits right in place like it belongs there, with no clearance or fitment issues. Am I missing something? Why is everyone saying it does not fit? Nick sith 06-01-2006, 08:31 PM u are missing something.. :) 2.2L = legacy/liberty legacy crossmember and swaybar = Gc8 crossmember and swaybar its the wrx and gc8 compatiblity thats the problem .sith. moss 06-01-2006, 08:46 PM No... the 2.5RS swaybars also is not suppose to fit with the impreza turbo/leagacy turbo crossmember. You can see that the turbo swaybar has a notch were the N/A doesnt have a notch. keith subbyspeed 06-01-2006, 11:15 PM you can get the RS swaybar to fit using the legacy turbo crossmember. Then drive the car for a day at most, when you hear loud clunking because your swaybar just spit out one or both of the bushings. The geometry just isn't correct. NicFunkadelic 06-01-2006, 11:17 PM interesting... good thing I still have the donor car, it's going to the junkyard this week. I'll be pulling that off, thanks for the advice... Nick HndaTch627 06-02-2006, 03:13 AM can u explain this? in the earilier post it says the wrx sedan sway wont fit easily.. what does aluminum control arms have to do with it? .sith. the GC alumnium control arms use the ball/pivot(i.e.: sealed) front endlinks that the WRX sedan uses, the links are also about 1" longer then the stock RS endlinks. GC Aluminum control arms = teh sexOr dear moss i hate you but your car is gonna rock ;) when's that thing finally going to run anyhow? scobaru 06-02-2006, 03:18 AM yah I have the alloy control arms and I'm using a cusco front sway bar for the turbooooooooooooooooo gc's and it seems like its too short... the jdm endlinks on my alloy control arm where twice as long as the usdm wrx endlinks and I'm using the wrx endlinks because my jdm one broke. hopefully whiteline 27-29mm front sedan wrx bar will do the trick. Rdwrc 06-02-2006, 01:34 PM rs sway bar worked for me by using quarter inch spacers in between crossmember and buishings |
