Okay, so here is what I have come up with. I am looking to go into competition with the system that I get. Some say chose SPL or SQ. Well, what if i want 2-3 subs, but want them to have high quality. Is that both? What are the best or top of the line subwoofers out there, where can I find them, and how many wats do they peak at. Money is not an issue here, I have no budget.

you say you want to go to competitions.... are you asking for help with the rest of the system or just the subs?

..............also, keep in mind our cars arent exactly designed for sweet systems so i hope you dont have a prob. mixing some glass :D

What kind of competitions do you mean?

If money is no issue then I'd suggest going to a more car audio focused board like termpro or elitecaraudio or carstereos.org and asking around about installers in your area. If you have that kind of cash then alot of it should be spent on the installation. The enclosure is going to be key for a little more SPL, or if you want it to look bling a good installer will fiberglass whatever design you have in your head. They'll be able to help you with the sub selections also.

yeah, but have you seen the pricetag? like 2 grand or something. Supposedly unreal BUT it's a magazine article for the review. If money's not an option go for it.

If you are serious about competing, make up a budget, then find a reputable shop in your area and see if you can work out a deal within what you have, and if they are willing to contribute anything. Bring a check book, preferably Trump's.

I hate to say it, but it does not sound like you have the background to pull this off without serious support and knowledge in your area. You will spend more money learning how to do things right, than brining in a specialist.

Just my MSRP $0.02

first off you have 1 flaw. if you want to do sound competition you HAVE to choose either sq or spl. some can do both but thier budget is around 100k. anyways. if you have a wagon you can actually do really well in spl. anything with a trunk isnt going to be ideal for spl. if you are serious check out sounddomain.com's forum and termpro.com forums

your best bet is to do a lot of research. What everyone says here is fine but the installation is going to be a good portion of your output. You are going to have to deaden everything, let alone find decent equipment.

Alpine type R's are some of the best budget subs that can get loud

My experience with RE is they are just a fart cannon. I've had good experience with elemental designs...clean, loud if ya want em to be and won't break the bank. www.edesignaudio.com
