View Full Version : Hey Conversion guys, need a donor wrx??
Aspen_2.5RS 05-30-2006, 08:04 PM I figured someone in here is probably looking for a whole wrx donor car so they can swap their slow nonturbo impreza.
Look here for details and pics: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1014210
Sorry for the cross post, but I know you guys like seeing donor cars. Use what you need for your swap and sell off what you don't want. Your swap could end up being free or you might even make some $$.
Thanks,
Cam
i saw it but its not worth half that ...with a cracked timing cover (borked engine) your going to have to part it to get the value out of it
Aspen_2.5RS 05-31-2006, 12:10 PM thanks for your opinion, however wrong it may be

Its not wrong, wrecked WRXs are a bit easier to come by than when you did your first swap.
Aspen_2.5RS 05-31-2006, 01:09 PM They aren't exactly plentiful around here. Thanks for the negative comments, though.

it's not wrong at all, if that motor was runnin when the accident happened it's got bent valves, the motor will require at least $1200 in parts/labor to repair it.

Well, I've done this about 13 times now... and I can tell you that there no way someone could do a swap with that donor car and find another $2k worth of parts in it.
Sorry... wrecked bugeyes are a dime a dozen, obviously if there was money in parting them out you wouldn't be trying to unload yours.
Aspen_2.5RS 05-31-2006, 01:41 PM Whatever you say buddy. I've done it. Maybe you don't know how to sell stuff.
There is money in parting them. The only reason I'm selling it as a whole is b/c I'd rather not deal with shipping a lot of parts, as I have already done this before.
Flame on.

axistang 05-31-2006, 01:47 PM Wow, Im going to ask my garbage man if he has performed 13 swaps when he picks up my trash later. How do you find time with your busy schedule?

mind if i ask why you are even in this forum other then trying to sell the car?
we are being very honest, that motor is toast.
then again myself and american youth who have both personally done swaps have absolutely no idea what we are talking about, we just come here for all the free stuff

Well, I could ask you the same question. I've been here longer than you (not that it's a competition). I used to come on here for information and to associate with local members before know-it-alls like yourself (who often give false info) and noobs made it a place where you can't post anything without being flamed.
The engine is not toast. The valves are bent. The valves are in the heads, which you should know. Like I said, I've had a car that had similar damage and I've had it repaired, and put back together and it ran great. Throw some new valves/seals in the heads and bolt it back together. It's not that complicated. It sounds like you're afraid of a little work.
You must expect free stuff. If you have no interest I don't even see why you're posting in this thread. Oh that's right, you have to try to build up your ego by bashing others' threads.....it's the nasioc way.

Beats me... I have 2 jobs and I'm a fulltime student.
Here's a few of the cars I've worked on:

Actually, 13 was way off. I've helped swap 14 cars professionally, and another 6 (if you count my own) personally. In a typical month, i sell 2-3k worth of stock parts. But, you're right, I don't know what I'm doing, you asking price couldn't possibly be a bit high.
I'm not here to hate, I post to help out. And in this case, I'm helping out a conversion n00b that might buy your donor expecting a goldmine.

Aspen_2.5RS 05-31-2006, 03:19 PM I'm not sure why you are even wasting your time posting what you've worked on. No one really cares and I really don't care what your opinion is on the price of the car is either. Not that you can read, but it does say o.b.o. which actually means "or best offer". Yeah, you learn something new every day.
I never said the car was a goldmine. It is what it is and I've expressed honestly what parts are unusable/damaged. Someone that isn't afraid of a little work can get a good deal.

all of you...shut up.
1. cam, it's not worth 4500. wrx's are pretty common nowadays. yours is pretty bent.
2. dickswinger, take your "i've worked on 13 cars" somewhere else, you made your point.
3. I've gotten bent valve motors for 400 bucks.
4. it's on ebay now.

Aspen_2.5RS 05-31-2006, 03:32 PM No ****! Steve, you're also a cheap ass.

steve_d 05-31-2006, 04:15 PM I didn't say the electronics came with it....
which valves, btw are bent? I've got a bent intake motor right now, if those are bent exhausts, they could be useful.

americanyouth 05-31-2006, 04:43 PM That response wasn't directed to the OP, but to this jackass:
