Okay, so I have a ver. 8 transmission and slave cylinder, and the banjo bolt flexible fluids line with a female fitting. I know it supposed to bolt to the hard line that winds it's way to the master cylinder. My question is this, I think the line should be long enough and flexible enough to connect the flexible line directly to the master cylinder via a male-to-male fitting? Is the long, solid line needed?

yes you must keep the solid line, there's no need to replace it, the less flexible line you have the better, flexible hose cuts back on the pressure

I don't have the solid section of line, that's why I ask. I can find/make one, just don't know if it's needed for the clutch to operate propererly. Anyone know the reason you need the hard line?

use the one that came on the car originally...it's the same line

ah...i didn't know that part, get one for a manual RS or a WRX, the line is the same, i am sure someone on here has one laying around.

You don't need the metal line. It just gets in the way. What I did was just spent like 30.00 on a custom stainless line. Flexible as rubber, but doesn't expand under pressure like rubber does.
