View Full Version : Rallitek Protune.. anyone?
selds 06-01-2006, 04:30 PM Has anyone here had a protune at Rallitek? I have searched but have found no posted results or reviews from people who have had a protune there. If anyone has had a protune at Rallitek please pm or post on this thread about the experience and quality of the tune you recieved. I ask because I am thinking about getting a protune there obviously  -Thx
Cooter05WRX 06-01-2006, 04:32 PM I think i am getting their Perfect Power 7 this summer, i have only heard good things about it.
selds 06-01-2006, 04:39 PM Thats what Im thinking too hmmmmmm.
Anyother opinions on Rallitek Protunes? How about PefectPower7 compared to a reflash?
-Thx
shemoves 06-01-2006, 04:53 PM *subscribed* been thinking about getting a similar unit for the Legacy
selds 06-01-2006, 05:50 PM Ahh another Legacy, me too ;)

HondaH8er 06-02-2006, 12:29 AM They did the tune on my PerfectPower6 when I had it put in my NA RS. But now I'm turbo'd with the AVO kit, using the map they sent with it. But I do plan on having them do a tune on it again to get the most out of the boost. With a good tune, I they should be able to pick up another 2 psi, I think. I'm only getting about 4 right now, I tried adjusting the wastegate, and got more boost, but also got some knocking/pinging (not sure which) at higher RPM's, so I turned the boost back down, it obviously needs some work to safely run 5+ psi.
Oh, I was very happy with the tune they did when I was NA, it worked really well.

where do people keep hearing good things about it....
(shakes head)
the only really good thing about a pp is that is cheep, really cheep)
a reflash has considerably more accuracy and safety than any piggy back period.
selds 06-02-2006, 12:59 PM PerfectPower7 is the latest version and is not "cheap" around 700 dollars IIRC and it offers a lot of nice features, but there is very little feedback or Dyno results from the system since it is so new.
How much more accuracy safety are we talking here though? To just say a reflash is better might only mean by just a tad.
Freon 06-02-2006, 01:28 PM The PP stuff is still pure piggyback. Fueling my fudging the MAF or MAP voltage and timing by stalling or advancing the crank sensor signal. The ECU will fight your changes. The SMT-6 is a great product for being a piggyback, though. I'm still contemplating picking one up again to use as a water injection injector controller since it has a spare injector output with 3D mapping, but I'd hate to use one as my only means of tuning.
A reflash should be worlds better than a straight piggyback.
Price is pretty irrelevent. I haven't looked that much at the SMT-7, but I'm pretty sure it is still piggyback and genericised for use with dozens or hundreds of motors. Not sure I'd blow $700 on something without its own open-loop fuel and timing control (like a reflash, UTEC, or standalone).
selds 06-02-2006, 03:52 PM I belive it has its own loop and timing control IIRC. There is a post from rallitek about the features. Here is a quote, does this change anyones mind as I don't fully or even barely understand what this all means :D
PerfectPower7 is Plug and Play and features speed/load dependant, closed loop boost control (no need for that AVC-R now!), Automatic control of waterspray(STi), Full control of 'Closed Loop' fueling, and full Ignition Timing control (including launch control/anti-lag!). RalliTEK's PerfectPower7 has capability for shift light, and multiple engine condition warning lights (need to know if the intake air temp goes above a certain point?...) This is PNP Engine Management above all other current brands. RalliTEK booked the entire month of August at our dyno for R&D on the new RalliTEK PerfectPower7, so you will be able to see dyno sheets for many different applications. RalliTEK PerfectPower7 software is accessible by you! You can tune, monitor, or data log yourself with RalliTEK's PerfectPower7. Windows software interface make our unit user friendly!
