View Full Version : Dash removal? where to go next..

ok.. i'm trying to remove the dash in my 01rs and am at this step:

the dash seems loose.. but still attached at the firewall?? what am i not doing?? where to next?

Have you removed the plastic panel, Its on the top, centre at the front of the dash by the windscreen. It should pull up & out. Once you have done that you will be able to see 2 X 10mm bolts.

The loom is partly fixed to the dash by small screws, you will get a better view of them once you managed to lift the dash slighty out. Then have a behind the dash from the outside of the car through the windscreen.

I dropped down the steering wheel to help ease out the dash (2 X 12mm bolts)

^^^ What he said, should come right out afterwards. Be careful dont smack your windshield with the ratchet. (I used an air ratchet, makes it easier). I also recommend pulling the column down, also makes it easier to get it out. Good Luck

Looks like your passenger airbag is still bolted in too. Check for 3 10mm nuts under it.

just to finish off this thread.. i wanna say thx to everyone.. it was the top plastic piece i didnt remove.. i just left the airbag right in the dash.. :)
