Now that is a car that would look good next to our WRX!

Legacy B4... I know its not Impreza related, but doesn't it share the STI engine / drivetrain?

Highly dought that it will come here. I don't think that it would be able to meet the emissions regulations. Plus look at how long it took to bring the WRX over here. I don't think that Subaru would bring the B4 over after just releasing the WRX.

I'm pretty sure that SOA will have some mods to the legacy to bump up horsepower, but it'll still be slower than the B4

HERE'S MY FIRST POST IN THE I-CLUB:

I have a theory about the b4 (blitzen).

Take a look at the lengths many car companies are going after in order to make their cars very "hip" and a "fad". Why would you want to do that you ask? The tech is cheaper, take Nissan for instance, it was cheaper for them to make most of their cars run faster and better then it was for them to leave them weak (although Nissans have always had good engines). Their entire new focus is in the "All Speed, All Performance" niche, they're earning their stripes in the fast-as-hell-even-though-I-have-a-baby-seat market. Also it's very inner-city sheak to drive a fast luxurious car, hence the large market for Leasing, which brings about 2/3 the extra profit when you measure in fees, resale, refinanceing, lot exposure, parting out, etc. So companies that make their cars fun and worth 2 years of driving ulitmatley make the most money (hence Honduh's having such a great residual value). So you want to bring out the best stuff, it'll pay off in a few years. "Profit that comes quickly ends quickly" and "remember the NEW economy"

The N. American car industry is becomeing very saturated despite the recent economic letdowns... Speed, performance, and safety are playing a big role in what the market chooses to diffuse and how fast. Subie did that by bringing in an affordable and painfully awaited (I know I had Blue Yam Bags for this car ever sice I saw a pic of the Aussie spec in a mag...) vehicle which causes much focus to turn to Subie, more subie's on used car lots in the future, more on the road, cheaper parts, higher residu value blah blah blah = more consistant flow of money and publicity and exposure. $$$

All this just means that each car company will try to outdo the other in each category. SWOT doesn't work in this industry anymore. The Fishbein Multi Atribute Model isn't gonna make sales anymore. Nissan will bring over a faster Maxi & Alti, Ford will soup up the Focus and Stang, Honduh will release even faster (although all high rev) econo-****-boxes, Toyota will do whatever it is it did with the Camry and Celica GT-S just x2 and on and on until you get to the point where subie needs the Blitzen to arrive and fairly quickly in order to try to keep it's market share higher than that of every other car on the road. If the B4 does make it to our shores, I'll trade in my WRX for one instantly... INSTANTLY!

If this was too boring just tell me, I'll lessen the load next time...

The B4 would be a great car to have here. Will it come over? Who knows! Isn't there some rumor that Subaru's lineup within the next couple of years is to have an forced induction lineup?

The B4 will never make it state-side...at least not in its current trim. Wry? The TT system's piping makes it immposible for Subaru to make it left hand drive. The same reason why we never saw a Skyline. If it was possible, you would see a lot of guys fitting the EJ20tt into their Legacy's and Impreza's.

But!...I 'heard' a rumor the other day that Subaru is considering fitting an EJ20 (WRX type) into a Legacy, calling it a B4, and selling it in the US!!! I also 'heard' that it would be tuned for a little extra power to compensate for the weight. IMO, this would be great. I would trade up the WRX in a heart-beat (if I could afford to). I would love a Red Legacy w/ gold wheels.

This rumor was't from someone I knew though, so don't count on this ever happening.:(

Hey, a guy could dream though, can't he.:alien:

I believe the B4 would not be able to "translate" to US as it is. Power would be down due to emission standard, probably a multi-CAT configration is needed, not to mention detune due to different fuel quality. Handling will have to be recalibrated to suit our rough roads here, and winter conditions, so no one got kill by losing control due to a spin out cause by pothole in winter...however it will still be great to see it here.

I vote for the Legacy GT turbo, with a EJ20t engine with at least 240 HP!

It is not the B4 but it's a start!

It's worked for the Outback moniker :D

I too have heard the rumor that Subaru will have a complete forced induction lineup within a couple years. Second hand info from my salesman through his SOA district manager, but it beats wild speculation!

Would be excellent to have a Legacy GT with perhaps an EJ25 turbo of sorts. Heck, even put in the WRX motor and it would be a fun car.

Want to tell Subaru what you want?

Go here. http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76038

Please don't tell them we want the EJ20 turbo. At least go for a Manuel Trannied H6 or a Force Fed H6.

It's not a matter of emissions. We get more power in the WRX than the UK does. It's all a matter of marketing and demographics.

What do US consumers buy? Trucks, SUVs, and boring appliance-mobiles (Camrys, Accords, etc.).

If it's worth anything, here's an excerpt from Subaru's reply to one of my 'product recommendation' emails (this time it was about the B4):

"To answer your question, I do believe that your line of thinking on the Legacy B4 may be on the right track. Through your obvious understanding of Subaru, you can see that we are moving forward in our performance market. However, we have no definite information on the possibility of the Legacy B4 coming to the U.S. Time will only tell!"

I have read bits and pieces in various magazines about the future of the Legacy GT. The wish for pairing a manual transmission to the H6 is highly unlikely. All indications thus far have pointed to forced induction as the power savior for the GT. Whether the US market benefits from the whole B4 platform (save the twin-turbo -- substituting a reworked WRX powerplant) is another area of speculations.

We can only hope.

Let's not forget that any power upgrades need to happen to the wagon as well as the sedan. So if yer gonna bring the B4, then BRING THE GT-B!!!

not the turbo one though

B4 comes in three models.
B4 RSK -EJ20sequential twinturbo
B4 RS -EJ20 NA
B4 25RS - EJ25

the last one sounds familiar doesn't it?
Yes we do have B4 2.5RS in US. It's just not called B4 here.

The United Arab Emirates has LHD Skyline GTRs because RHD vehicles are not allowed in the country. I've seen one in person so I know its true.

Is it just me, or are those the UK 17'' wheels for the WRX? What were they doing on a legacy 2 years ago?

the other way around..
The rims are for Legacy B4 / GT-B originally.
Subaru put them into WRX for European market later.
