hey guys,

my boss for work has a mid-70's porsche 914. he's doing a jdm ej20g swap into the car, and he wants my help. he has already bought the motor, but i want to make sure he has the right ecu. the codes on the ecu are as follows:

7Z
226 AD720
A18-000 D64 then in small print 7X20

can anyone tell me what this ecu is? it has 3 yellow plugs. there is a barcode on the side of it that says: 02752596-WA18000D64WWW.

the whole situation looks kind of sketch because the guy gave him a usdm wrx intake manifold harness which clearly will not even come close to working with the motor. the plugs going into the ecu are cut, so i have to source him the harnesses he'll need, but i can get that stuff easily. the ecu has impreza written on it in faded pencil.

oh, btw, this ej20 has a air to water intercooler... it's a single turbo motor. is it even an ej20g? is it from a jdm impreza or legacy? i was under the impression all imprezas had air to air intercoolers, and the old school legacys had water.

6K (STi mapped, but not Chipped) - 1995/1996 STi 13.64psi
7K (STi mapped, but not Chipped) - 1995/1996 STi RA13.64psi
Prodrive UK ECU (Prodrive Chipped) - 1994 to 1996 13.68psi
1C, 3B, V9, V5 - All WRX Wagons 10psi, dropping to 6.8psi

Thats the most comprehensive list ive found so far of UK and JDM turbo impreza ecu's. 7z is the part number your looking for.. Sounds like a legacy with that intercooler though :(

Well a yellow three plug is either an EJ18E, or a 96-98 EJ20D/G/H/K/R (Manual only on D/H). And since 22611AD720 isn't a valid USDM part number it's gotta be from a D/G/H/K/R

hmmm, now when you say ej18e, you're referring to the ej18 from the us spec impreza L correct?

were ej20d/g/h/k/r all turbo motors? i know there was an n/a 2.0 elsewhere in the world. i also spoke to supermoose/swapstar and he said that his ej20g ecu has 4 plugs, not 3. he wasn't sure if this could be from an auto though?

Cool, thanks for the reply :)

Would you happen to know if the following MAF sensor will work with the above ECU's:

JECS MAF
Part#: 22680AA200
A36-601 R62
4408B
