View Full Version : 4WD dyno at UAA?
kyleblix 06-05-2006, 06:57 PM I know this has been covered before but, i met a guy last night that works at specialized imports, i don't remember his name but he drive a purple '91 eagle talon w/ a big a** turbo on it. He said he's positive that there is a 4WD dyno at UAA. I never went to UAA so I have no clue. Does anyone know for sure?
Also wondering if anyone has ever run w/ his car, he was talking about how he walks sti's and evo's all the time. Just curious how fast it is.
Thanks,
Kyle

It's an AWD dyno only used for educational purposes for their automotive program. Why only for their program? I have no clue. They could make a hefty profit and gain money along with various of cars coming in for the use of that dyno. However, UAA does what they feel. I am hoping to use it possibly when I enroll. I sort of know the intructors their because my teacher from KCC knows them quite well. I'll find out more tomorrow about some possible usage or what exactly they use for it.
-Wonder how his suspension is, I would like to see him walk Hank Swan when his STi is done with the new motor and tune from PDX... Theirs something Ralph really likes to talk about, and all I can do is drool about the potential.
kyleblix 06-06-2006, 03:10 AM Well that sucks that there's a dyno sitting like 2 miles from me and i can't use it. Seems to me that there is not much of a point to having an "educational use only" dyno when it's the only one up here. So people who graduate w/ knowledge of the dyno will have to leave the area to use the knowledge. Mean while you've got people right here looking for an awd dyno and a tech.

.....+1
svt_contour 06-06-2006, 11:13 PM i dont think UAA is really hurting for money or has the need to make a few bucks on the side. not saying its cool. jsut saying im sure that is the case.
AK_2002_WRX 06-07-2006, 05:26 AM yeah, they don't need money, they just raise tuition every year.
when i was doing automotive classes there, they had a 2WD dyno, for educational purposes, but no one had anything worth dynoing. and there were talks of the 4WD dyno, guess they actually did it. maybe if i bribe my old instructor:devil:

tution went up from $109 or so to about $140 per credit this fall.. sucks..
228BlackEvo 06-07-2006, 06:03 AM lol, i actually was going to enroll this summer to get on the inside... i attended spring semester... umm, it's a mustang dyno i'm sure... : / low reader. but I guess you could tune and base it off of those numbers, problem with that though, i'm sure they would only do a one time run.
