OK, looks like we are planning an "annual" Girdwood/Portage cruise and photoshoot for Sunday, June 25th. We'll meet at the Sears parking lot at 1 pm, then drive out to Girdwood to eat at Chair 5. Afterwards, take a short jaunt to Portage Valley for some pics and rumbling through the tunnel (;) you know what I'm talking about lol). Please bring a 2 way radio if you have one (I'll remember to bring mine this time) and keep in mind, we'll not be racing, driving like imbeciles, or doing anything that may cause unwanted attention from the cops, not to mention unsafe driving. Remember, as Winslow has already posted in another thread, that stretch of hwy from Potter's Marsh to Girdwood is DOUBLE points and fines!!!!

well, it's a quaint rustic burger and beer joint in girdwood. about 30 - 45 mins drive depending on how many motorhomes we're stuck behind.

I just drove it today out of shear boredom, its roughly 120mile round trip. The place that I was hoping would work for a photo-op is really too rough for cars. But Bird Creek and several places on the road to Whittier, before the tunnel, should make for nice photo-op's. Now with out jinxing hopefully it doesn't rain like it did down there today.

portage has a nice big lot with a great scenic view behind it. I'm sure we could get good shots over their.

Which brings me to my next point, does anyone know if Chair 5 takes reservations cause with all of us showing up who knows how long it could take them to get us all tables. 110hp (at the crank) is what the factory says, hopefully that much is at the wheels with my plugs, wires, oils, K&N air filter, exhaust, and homemade short throw shifter.

lol. guess your 1.8L is slower than his 1.8L. and nothing wrong with 1.8L. i had the 2zz engine and it was rated at 180 hp (crank). the lotus Elise is rated at 190 hp, the 1.8L jettas and golfs all pretty decent, so 1.8L isn't so bad. atleast you have 4L and not 3L like the metros! lol

a grill out sounds nice for an upcoming meet (after chair 5) Schwabbenhoff out in the valley is a littel par/pub that allows rentals of their outdoor BBQ's, I believe all you do is bring your food and charcoal, they can spply the beer for us alchies.

Or ya, amny other places for grill outs.

Yeah Kate its on the way there... but I can't remember if its closer to Chair Five then it is to Anchorage. Depending on traffic its well under an hour to get there.

The one out Crow Creek Road (in Girdwwod) is $8 bucks a day for the use of a gold pan. (thats what the news said anyway)

hahaha first they sent him the wrong axle altogether....then on the second time around, it gets sent to the wrong address....i'm not sure which company nate dogg went through....but i wouldn't recommend them....plus they are being shady on refunding him the shipping charges on the first axle shaft because they messed up
