JDM ej207 compression results:
102 104 104 105
The shop that did it said those numbers were fine. However, after the way they have treated the rest of my car, I don't think they know a thing about jdm engines.
Are these numbers bad? or are they ok?

sounds fine considering your elevation.

perfect compresssion for an ej207 v7/8 is around 130 per cylinder. didn't know elevation makes a difference for a compression test.

elevation make no difference. closed cylinder is sealed. outside pressure has no effect! --keith

This is a V5/6, does that make a difference? If not, I guess I'm dumping money into a bad swap right?

My car tested in at around 145 per hole. Your numbers sound low but the are consistant. Could have just been spun slow or it has sat a while. I would say the engine is fine.
those numbers woudl fly if the car was cold ..

pressure tests are a joke IMHO. they dont realy tell you anything. all they do is say if its ok or not.
You should do a cyl leak down test. This way you can see where the pressure is going(valves, rings, gasket, ect.) on a cold engine it should be around 7-12% ;)

I agree with Steve. Engines that have sat here at our shop usually show about a 15-20% lower compression test than would be expected. After they have been relubricated and run in, the numbers generally come up. I would say to put the engine in the car and continue with the build.
Who are you dealing with? Maybe I can suggest someone else to help you out since I am local to you...

agreed, but on a motor that has sat expect to see more along the lines of 15-20% leakage. Based on the even compression test results i'd say the motor is okay. YOu really need to run it and then re-take the compression/leakdown readings.
