I received a letter about the front 02 sensor on my 2000 RS. supposedly its recalled for throwing CE lights. (big surprise). Anyway, I have headers on my car. When I go in, will they still validate it? It a RECALL. Thanks!

You shouldnt have a problem. Just call the dealer ahead of time, and just ask. Recalls cant be voided to my knowledge.

I asked my local dealer about my safc voiding my recal and they were pretty cool about it. they said they just close their eyes and replace it so unless you have a$$es working at you dealership you should be ok.

Don...Just take the O2 into the dealer without the car. You swap the part for the new one and install it in the driveway. The recall is for the part....not the whole system.

Besides...If you take that loud-a$$ thing into the dealer with that exhaust on there, they will just stare at you in amazement....then the will call other people over to stare....and this could go on for hours!!
For those of you that don't get this...Don has a custom system that is pretty similar to the MRT setup....probably not very dealer friendly!!

Don,
Don't worry, I have zero engine mods and I went through six O2 sensors so far and I haven't been questioned about anything. The dealers know there was a bad batch of O2 sensors made.

They won't allow you to swap the part yourself. I tried that, just because I didn't want to wait at the dealer forever for them to switch it. It's a recall, and they need to verify the recall was performed properly. Most likely they wouldn't allow you to perform warranty work yourself, either.
My dealership was cool with my headers. Dealerships vary, however. If it's just the Borla header connected to the stock cat, they shouldn't give you any hassle. It won't affect the recall (defective part from the factory) in any case.
