View Full Version : Utec Vs. Cobb Accesport ftnjun2x 06-08-2006, 03:37 AM I know UTEC is more expensive than COBB ACCESPORT but which one is ideal for a dummy like me...my goal is 350-maybe 400HP MAX  DinoGuan 06-08-2006, 05:20 AM dummy = ap but i believe utec might be more suited for 350+hp. clamdip 06-08-2006, 07:16 AM for a dummy like you and me, i would say that the accessport is better. depending on what your set-up is, PDX tuning would probably have a map for you. however, i would say that if your goal is 350-400hp a shelf map wouldn't be very suitable for higher HP applications. it would be better to actually street tune or dynotune your set-up. when all is said and done, the accessport + streettuner is pretty up there with the UTEC. getting back to your question, i would say that for the dummy like you and me, get the accessport + protuner and get your car dynotuned by someone. the UTEC is not something for everyone, as well as the streettuner. ftnjun2x 06-08-2006, 12:21 PM my last major setup would be an 18g,650cc,fuel pump,TMIC,TBE and AP and a protune for the next 3 years coz I live in a desert. You think that'll work for a daily driven car and a newbie tuner like me, as far as EM goes? clamdip 06-08-2006, 03:45 PM with the AP + PT you won't be able to tune your own vehicle. that's mainly for the "pro" tuner, in otherwords you would need to see a company or shop that has the license to tune your ECU and load the map into your AP. but i would say that with that set-up, you'll probably be reaching about 350whp on race gas w/18g. that's a nice set-up. i would say that would be the best way to go, that way you won't have to worry about anything. in the meantime, go get some books and start reading, then get the streettuner and start your tuning voyage. especially since you live in the desert, i would be getting some HUUUUGE turbo's and just open it up. :) ftnjun2x 06-08-2006, 07:46 PM Thanx fellas, COBB ACCESPORT it is :) |
