I paid about 250 installed for a 500HF model. Power locks, ignition kill, parking lights, and dome light all included.
Just call around there should be a ton of DEI vendors in Cali for you.

As far as I know you can only buy DEI's Hornet line over the counter. The rest of their stuff can only be purchased installed from an authorized dealer.
www.viper.com is DEI's website.

DEI won't warentee any of its product unless its installed by someone with MECP certification. you go with a major corporation you get the quickest turnover time (usually) for installation and a MECP certified installer. your car breaks cuz you saved some money and bought it online and did it yourself your insurance won't cover it. same thing at a random "mom and pop shop" and they really don't wanna buy a new REX for you. ;)
your best bet is a circuit city. i think theres more then 180 of them in CA. check it out. p.m. me if you want prices off all the locations cloest to you and the name of the manager that runs the shop thats closest to you. :D
edit: had to fix that :p

Actually, he is in CA, not MI, that's me.
As far as Circuit City or any Large chain store I would stay away unless you know the installers. They are usually just kids that don't know much. As far as MECP goes, it is a total joke. All you have to do is memorize the book to pass the test, you don't actually have to know anything. Yes, I know this first hand since I'm First Class certified. I only did it because I got paid more. I know or have talked to alot of guys at alot of the chain stores around here with more "shop time" than me that I wouldn't let near any car I own. There is no replacement for real world experience.
This is not to say the chain stores do not have good installers also because they do. I know a few that are very good also. I'm just saying be careful.

true but do you gague real world experience on the amount of cars you work on?
the  chain store:devil: that i work for can do over 5 times the amount of cars that all the small shops locally in our area. when you have 7 - 10 guys that actually take the time to memorize the book so they can get paied more they understand and as far as real world experience goes the 20-30 cars a day we do makes us have to know all the wire colors and locations of wires etc. etc. in order to get em all done. one day its 10 honda accords/civics for remote startes with other cars (not worth driving) mixed in for various alarms and amps and other random stuff. the next day its a NESIC mini-meet at our shop with 25 scoobies in all colors and types in the parking lot. (i'v got pictures to back that one up - that was a fun day :p) all in all repition makes you good. kinda like heel-toe down-shifting. (those who want to learn the correct way check the NESIC sticky posts)
i think the friends in blue have given us "chain store" people a bad rep.
