Hello everyone,
I have a '03 4eat wrx wagon, and i just hit 30k miles on my way home today. Does anyone have a recomendation for someone to do my 30k service? I live in the eagle river area, so eagle river/anchorage would be fine.
Let me know! Looking for quality as well as a good deal.
Thanks
-Jake

as a dealer mechanic, i can think of 4 very good reasons to go to us.
1. the dealer has the only factory-trained wrx techs in town. Since they've only been out since 02, training done before that does not apply.
2. there are potentially 3 open recalls on your car, we are the ONLY ones that can do these recalls and/or check to see if they've been done already. (auto trans, cruise clip, seat bolt)
3. your car still has various warranty coverage, we are the only ones that can do warranty work at no cost to you. often times leaks/problems are spotted during the 30k service and having the car here means everything gets done in one visit.
4. your trade in will be higher with dealer service records! also when questionable warranty issues arise, it's helpful to see the service records here in making decisions.
you can't go wrong with the subaru dealer, if you decide to bring it to us just pm getagrip (jake), or mavrik (phil) or call 562-2722

^Jerrys the Man! Great People at Conti!
Never forget about the people at SIAS... They're great to work with too.

should the car be demodded before it's taken in to conti? say put the stock exhaust back on? not that it hard to tell it's been modded when all the heat shields have been cut....lol

to be perfectly honest with you in regards to mods on your car... there is no point in removing them before taking the car in. We do not document what ever mods you have on your vehicle. The only time we might even mention anything in regards to them is if we see or feel they are causing harm which could cost you money. We do not "black flag" your car and call SOA and have them void your warranty. The only time mods are an issue with warranty is if they caused the particular failure. At which time... you pay to play pretty much.
Also... bragging or discussing on here all your mods and then removing them before taking your car in for service is like telling the most talkative kid in school your deep secrets. Someone will always find out. :D

LMAO. yes, all the subie techs and service advisors are on here, as well as admin. no sense spending the time to take it back to stock. they already know what mods you have!
however, having said that, if you do get a CEL and you think it's because of a particular mod, then it doesn't hurt to uninstall it, take it to stock and see if the CEL goes away. if it does, well, then you know it's because of the mod. this happened to me when i installed my CAI on my previous car. when i unstalled the intake, the CEL went away. i already knew what code it was throwing, so it didn't bother me too much. when i got my unichip installed, the CEL went away.
unless your mod CAUSES the problem, they cannot deny you warranty work. that's like the dealer denying warranty work on your engine because you have a body kit on your car (not Conti, but a warranty company not in the US). just because you have modded the car, does not void your entire warranty, only the part that the mod affected, as it should be. at least here, Conti (for me and for several other members on these boards) have been good to us, only denying claims where a particular mod does in fact cause the problem (which is to be expected). there are several cases where they still covered it, even when they did not have to. THAT is a great dealership IMO!
plus, i generally only have the subie guys work on my car. ;) they know what they are doing, so i trust them fully.
