No. The special edition just has the stock 5th gear.

I know the advantage of RA gears over stock, I just dont know specifically why I would get these

1)If you want a better time in the drag strip your best advantage is a low gear ratio.
2)You don't have to go 2mph in order to shift into 1st gear.
3)02-03 WRX's first and second gear are weak gears and will go out. The RA gears can take more than the stock.

I thought I blew out my fist gear but it was the Center Dif that I blew out. I found out about that after I bought the gears. I also wanted the gears because I have a ongoing project that is going to require good gears to support my setup.

yeah I waited like over a month and the first gear ended up bieng wrong so it took like 3 months total, I just got the first gear today :)
