I'm looking to buy a WRX and I have questions about addional dealer fees I need to consider when making my YES/NO calculation for my purchase:

I have figured:
1) TMV price of the car $22,614.00
2) TMV of the options $504.00
3) Dest Charge $525.00
4) Taxes ~$1,114.00
5) ??

what about any additional dealer fees i might not be considering in my calculation? Tag and Title? I really need to know exactly what the price is going to be as I need to know how low I can go with selling my current vehicle. :( These 0% deals are making it really hard to sell a used car via private party. :(

Please shed you wisdom guys! I really appreciate it!

Dealer Doc Fee= about $200
Dealer Prep Fee= about $300-$500
these fees vary greatly from dealership to dealership so be careful. Best of luck.

You need to worry about all the BS things a dealership can do. Excessive DOC fees and Prep fees are a load of crap.

Advertising fees are a load of crap as well.

The only think you may need is the basic registration/plate fees. Call your local office, Notory, etc...that handles vehicle registration and ask how much it is. Sometimes its a bit more to expedite, which is why the dealer may charge a bit more.

You should not pay for prep.

ALl you should be negotiating is the dealer profit.

Take the TMV of the car, add tax, destination, tags, and then dealer profit. For my dealer, they wanted $500 profit (plus holdback: I negotiated from dealer invoice). That was all I paid. Title and doc fees were $133.50, of which I got a complete breakdown of them, and they were within reason (PA charges $36 just to register the car, then plates, etc.....I could have saved no more then $50 if I did it myself at a local notory, so I let the dealer do it).

Good luck...
