Everytime I engage my A/C, I get a clunking noise. Anyone else get this? Normal or not? Thanks.

My car does it too, I presume it is normal. I have had other cars that did this on initial turn on.

This is coming from some non-technical, heard it from someone else talk (my pops, an electrical engineer) says that it's the magnetic clutch engaging... So it's the sounds of the part coming into contact... He said something along those lines to me :-D

mine clunks too, doesnt bother me, but when my rpm's are above 3k, it SQUEEEKS!!! that DOES bother me.

Thanks guys. Glad to hear it's normal. I guess scoobies just like to make all sorts of noises. Clicks from the lights, ticking from the valves, whine from the gearbox, etc. Just adds character is what I say :D
