I am hearing a squeal in my brakes but only when I hold the Brake pedal at a certain position. any ideas what this could be and if it's covered in my Warranty?

oh yeah and my trunk release handle no longer works, but the key in the trunk works.

Brake squeal/howl/etc is not covered under warranty since it's considered "normal." :)

With respect to your trunk release problem, it sounds like you've "cancelled" the trunk release switch (see the following diagram).

Just realized that the "etc." above was too general. If you hear a metal-on-metal scratching sound, that's probably your brake pad wear indicator scratching on the brake rotor. It means your brake pads have worn down and need to be replaced (as a pair - both fronts or both rears). However, this, also, is not a warrantied item.

Interesting. I wonder if it would be a warranteed item if they wore out in a few months. PRobably not, they might just assume you've been at the track with 'em.
