....and I was very excited to just mount it up empty, just to see how it looks.

Well, first....it looks really nice when painted. The paint is very scratch resistant (as I found while trying to install) and matches the stock color almost exactly....

The gauge pods face slightly in and the friction fit for the 2 1/16" autometers were perfect.....

now comes the but.........but getting it mounted is a PITA. It does not mount with the stock clips or anything. You must drill 2 holes in the sheet metal behind the pillar.

Fit is okay with some serious manipulation. The piece along the bottom that is supposed to help line the pillar up upon installation is much shorter than the stock, almost too short.

But the thing that kinda pissed me off, was the screws that are supplied. They are too short!!! The bottom screw will work with some extra attention. But the top one is barely long enough to scratch the paint. I had to go to Home Depot to pick up some bigger ones.

So now the screws are in, my EGT is just sitting in the pod and I am happy for the most part. There is a little issue of the fit. Ok, its real good, but not perfect. There are 2 places kinda bug me.

1- down in the corner next to the actual dash, there is one spot where it seems that things are put of alignment.

2- the rubber edging that goes along the pillar and roof lines, kinda a trim finishing piece has one spot where it bulges out a hair.

Beyond that, it looks really great. Perhaps with more adjustment today the fitment will be better....we shall see....

Today I will mount and connect the A/F meter and the EGT. Then tonight I will be going to the track and possibly York, PA. Should be fun!!!!!!!!

BTW- I know everyone warned to wait for the Autometer pods....oh well........

I just put mine in to see how it looked. I agree with almost everything you said. I didn't even try the bottom screw though. I pushed the top one really hard to get it to bite. I couldn't tighten it much because I thought that it would go right through the pod. I also used the little metal bracket as a mounting point. I felt better about drilling into the bracket than my A-post. My heart almost stopped when the drill punched through the first layer of the A-post. Anyway, I got it mounted and took it fo a drive. HOLY BLINDSPOT BATMAN!

I put my Lotek in Sunday. The only real issue I had was getting the drill lined up to make a good hole for the bottom screw. I had to take it at an angle and the bit kept slipping off the spot.

The weather stripping bulges on mine as well, but my screws were plenty long.

I'll snap some pictures and post them when I get the car back from having the EGT temp probe installed.
