I have almost 8,000 miles on my Rex and my drivers seat(outside bolster) is starting wear out and it is beginning to look like my favorite jeans I bought 5 years ago. I took it to a service writer and he looked at me like I was crazy. The sueded fabric is wearing very poorly. There is no way it will last very long. I will have to start wearing silk pants so they don't scratch the fabric getting in and out.:mad:

hmmm, I hear you, and that sucks. But good luck getting anywhere on this. I've owned a lot ofcars with big bolsters over the years, and a few of them have been badly worn. So I learned long ago to slide into and out of the car with as little weigh on the bolster as possible.

Or you could upgrade to the leather interior GB, or those neoprene covers.

BTW, Mine's got 7 months of wear and looks as new as day one.

Maybe I should go to Pep Boys and buy some Neoprene covers for my seats like all the Nascar fans have on their GM wonder mobiles. I would look real good on my Rex don't you think.....or may sheepskin covers.....now that would be cool. Winter is coming!

My dad's z3 has a wear patch on it about 3 1/2 by 1 1/2 inches. Started after the first year, really hasn't gotten any bigger is the last 3 though, so just learn to live with it. 'Cause anything you do to protect it is gonna look just as stupid as the wear.

There's a 12,000 mile Initial Adjustment warranty, as well as the bumper-to-bumper warranty. If you wear it dramatically in the 12,000 period, they should warranty the seat.

However, it's velour, not suede. And is it worn or just brushed in the same direction? With such high bolsters, you would be wise to adjust how you get in to and out of the seat. If not, you'll wear down the foam as well, eventually.

I hear ya, though. With the STi seats, you have to pull yourself up using the A-pillar.

What is that Velvet? What movie is that from? I have tried to lift myself over the bolster, but realistically it is hard to do on a consistent basis. I am relatively good shape too. Thank God I don't deliver pizza's

I wouldn't touch the neoprene covers myself, but there was a thread earlier about some custom fit ones from Wet Okole that looked OK. Better than a hole in your seat, worse than my two tone leather interior with heated front seats. :D :D

Had the same problem with the factory Recaro's in a '92 VW GTI 16V. I got a set of those [Wet Okle?] neoprene covers which also showed signs of wear after a years's use.

Talk to the dealer. They recovered my drivers seat, no problem. All new again.

That good to hear that your dealer recovered your seat...I will push for that in the near future
