just curious what kind of car lifts would people recommend to get so i can service my car in my garage? lookin' to be able to do all standard stuff plus easy upgrades ( suspension, exhaust, etc. basic engine work ). i was thinkin about just getting jack stands, but it would take a while to get the car up and the jack stands i've seen usually only lift the car up 1ft. if i could get a power lift, i'd prefer it. thanks

check local classifieds, I checked CT's bargain news and found about a half dozen lifts for sale, around $1000. For new lifts look at a minimum of $2000.

Note: these things are very heavy, 1+ ton range, so think about that when looking. lifts.com has an $1900 delivered lift, but it only has a 36" lift height, and access to the undercarriage looks pretty blocked.

I got interested in your question so I did a quick Internet search. I found this interesting site. Don't have any experience with the product .
