The motor on my driver's power window is shot I think. It started failing intermittently, then worked but wouldn't roll up/down smoothly and would make a horrific noise when it got to the bottom, and now it's just stuck (only a couple inches from the top thankfully). How much can I get a new motor for? Anything to know here? p e a c e

I'd take off the door panel first so you can take a look inside and see what the real problem is.
If you need a new motor, there are always our friendly forum-sponsoring online discount Subaru dealers, and the "auto recyclers" for used stuff.

what kind of nose? like a bang?
It sounds kinda like what happened to mine, I just fixed it today, all of the bolts that hold the motor bracket came off, then the window cut the power cord to the motor. PITA :)
