Lotek Engineering...

it was on hold for over a month.

You can order it black or with Grey interior colored paint (very scratch resistant, I might add:).)

very nice!

i'm debating on that pod for my WRX. But your pics might convince me!

What gauge brands and sizes are you running?

I'm thinking...

Boost
EGT
A/F?

If you ever planned on getting teh water spray aparatus for your intercooler, a water level guage might be a good idea.

I'm waiting for mine right now. It should be here tomorrow. I still need to get a third gauge too (EGT). Install was easy enough I assume. Looks good man, I can't wait.

Water gauge would be cool, for I am interested in a water spray kit. Other than that I have been thinking about either: oil temp, oil pressure, modify to fit a small shift light, or get the matching analog clock that Autometer sells. Oh yes, they are both Autometer 2 1/16" gauges, Sport Comp ones.

I originally was going to run the A/F, EGT and Boost....actually had all three, but I sold the Boost gauge because of the Blitz SBC i-D that I run has two ways of displaying boost (in 4 different units!!)

I went with Sport Comp mainly because of the aluminum bezel and and the black background (both match the dash very well, I only wish the needles matched better) and using the green bulb condom matched the interior lighting very well.

I really hate the idea of losing a clock once I mount the Power Meter beside the SBC. Right now I have a cheapo Bel digital clock velcro'd beside the boost controller display....I put that there when I lost the stock clock with the pod I installed....I still have other ideas for time keeping, but the 3rd gauge opening in the pod is such the easy way out.....must resist.....

BTW- A/F when hooked to the O2 sensor that will work with the gauge, will not operate like everyone elses A/F. Remember, you must connect to the rear O2 sensor....which is after all the cats...so at idle you will only see "lean"(sometimes off the scale), at full throttle it will swing to almost full "rich" (after a small delay) and then at cruise it will hover in the "stoich".....but do not expect the "normal" whoosh whoosh back and forth motion like most others. You could add another O2 sensor to solve that......

dug-e-fresh,

Nice pics and info. Couple of questions: how's the quality and fit-and-finish? How was the install? Does it use stock mounting locations?
I'm debating whether or not I should wait for Autometer's pod to come out (supposedly by mid-Nov now), and any info would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance
Paulie

Hey, what size gauges did you get, btw? The 52mm?

Does the finish of the plastic match the other interior plastic, or does it look totally different (saw one in a DSM that was the right color but totally smooth and wierd looking...looked sorta tacky).
take care,
rob

color match is perfect, it is textured very much like the stock interior...only harps are the mounting methods.....and there are some fitment issues....I mean it will fit and look good, but you will have to really work with it....the paint is very scratch resistant also as I found from "working with it":).

Those are indeed 52mm (2 1/16") gauges....

Paulie- it does not use the stock mounting locations at all....screws are supplied, however I found them to be too short....went to Home Depot to pick up some longer ones. It will fit, but it was a PITA for me.........and I am pretty adept at these types of things........

I got one just like it. I had the same results, except that I ordered the 60mm unit. I have two beautiful 60mm A'pexi EL gauges that are homeless. I have it mounted and empty right now trying to get used to the oh-crap-am-i-gonna-drive-right-into-something blind spot.

It looks like the 60mm pods may be intrusively large IMHO.

okay, maybe your'e in a parking lot and those are parked cars. The grass in between threw me, but maybe what I see is a sidewalk and then parked cars. At first I thought you'd photchopped a traffic scene in there....damn I'm paranoid....

Which Apex gauges did u get? Are the face of the gauges black and light up blue? How does it look? Can you post some pics??? I have the HKS Type1 TT and I wonder if that Blue light would match nicely? Thanks man!!!

Very nice dude!!! I am still soo undecided on what I want to get. Gauges that is......Can you post a pic of the Blitz Boost controller. I am thinking about getting the same one. How much did u pay for yours if u don't mind me asking and where?

wy_wrx, I got white face ELs. They are sitting on my coffee table. I have one of the HKS TTs w/blue lights. I doubt that they will match, but will look cool in they're own ways.:)

lotek makes good stuff. I have seen it first hand. I wouldn't be worried about their product at all. Choosing which gauges is the fun part.

wy_wrx-

paid $525 shipped from an eBay seller out in Cali.
I could have got it for $485 shipped, but there were some miscommunicated e-mails and I offered the $535 after the guy told me I could have it for $485, he ended up just taking $525...kinda sucked though...damn e-mail!!

Thanks for the show-n-tell. Looks good. When are you installing the powermeter?

$525 isn't a bad price.....but damm, would have been better @ $485...... :D

btw - have you decided on the 3rd gauge yet? I haven't got my gauges yet.....too much fun shopping around. I guess I'm just too picky.......cuz I can't make up my mind!!!:alien:

Joe -

I just bought an Autometer Z-Series EGT (unopened) that I need to send back. If you want it you can save shipping ($7). It's the 2-1/16". Just wondering.
