AAA is trying to increase my rates to $4200 a year because my car is registered in Nevada and living in MI. Is there some company that won't be so stupid? I'm 18 w/ a clean driving record.

They need your address and where the car is parked, but not registration. I've had cars registered out of state with no problems at all. Edit: I should add that many insurance companies have different underwriters for different states, so when you move, basically you're starting a new policy. You should simply shop around for MI insurance rates. -Ray JC 10-23-2001, 01:38 AM Do I have to register my car in MI to use MI insurance? JC rkkwan 10-23-2001, 03:09 AM No, the insurance company should NOT care where, or if, you car is registered. I have had a car insured in DC with TX plate, couple of cars insured in RI with TX plates, etc... -Ray |
