Hey can our the 2002 wrx's really not go over 7200 rpm?????
I mean, is it safe to approach 8000. Why doesnt suburu lets us go over 7200? Also, is it safe to increase the boost pressure to lets say 18 psi?

7300 is the limit. 8000 prolly wouldn't be safe without new engine parts.

Get your car running up to, oh, say, 60mph (nice and low to be safe). Then take it out of third, double clutch, and push with all your might and get your tranny into first. Then pop the clutch! Voila! Instant over-the-7200rpm limit! :D
Of course, your tranny, your engine, and basically your entire car won't like you any more.
The 7200rpm limit is there for a reason - probably to keep the engine from flying itself apart, along with the other driveline pieces. Sure you can up the limit, but you'll need to change some hardware (i.e. valves and springs, ECU, other related hardware).
