i have a one month old wrx, which happens to kick ass. however, the other day the driver seat started sqeaking like it was going out of style. i mean, it sqeaks as much as the bench front seat did in my '83 crown victoria. what's with that? this is not supposed to happen ALREADY is it?
i was thinking about unzipping the cover (with the zipper on the rear of the seat) and oiling some springs or something. does anyone else have other ideas?
thanks
jeff
Never heard of this happening before. Forgot to see what car you had, but if it is still under warranty then I would take it in and have them look at it. There might be some material missing from the seat that would make it sqeak. If not then just take of the seat cover and start looking for wear marks.
good luck,

I thought mine was too one day - driving down the road with the windows down, turned out to be a tag on the side of the seat. Maybe that's it?

Good luck with the squeek (no advice here), just noticed you address and had a flashback to The Usual Suspects.

My seat did this for awhile...
Turns out, one side of the seat wasn't securely locked in place. Seems to be okay, now.

One of the four mice that power your little engine has escaped.
Lure him back to the engine bay with a piece of cheddar in your intake. If that fails, send your trunkmonkey after him.
Also, check out the seat rails... my Outback had hella problems with those. Make sure all your bolts are tight. If that fails, turn your stereo up.

When/If I ever have any problems with my car, I plan on taking it to the dealership and ask them about it. If your seat squicks as bad as you make it sound then they should be able to help you.
However, if you want to try and take your seat apart and oil it up, go for it!
are you a big guy? i am, and ive had problems with my driver's seat...
seat rails losening up and stuff...
ive taken it a couple of times and they "fix" it but it comes back, although its been a while since it did...
