I have waited patiently on this product, and though it is not what i thought it would be, I dont think I would be dissatified with it ( I'm not a tuner). I am a little bit taken back that my tuner tells me they dont know if they will even get it. Hmmm??? Is this optional for tuners who are Ecutek dealers? If so, that sucks!! I know when a new car comes out, dealers get them at different rates, based on certain factors like volume, units sold, etc. But they do get the product eventually, and in a reasonable amount of time. For a Ecutek dealer to say they haven't, in so many words, "thought about it yet" (thats what I was told) is not a good thing. To me all Ecutek dealers should have already gotten with their british boss, and at the very least worked out the pricing and bundles. Now, PDX and Kingpin can sell it to me, but its going to cost me even more??? I'm trying to be adult, but this is starting to burn my ass.

I heard the Cobb has a lot of problems with the quality of the maps, or is this the tunable version(Street Tuner) you are talking about?

There is nothing wrong with the quality of hte Cobb maps. They are generic maps made for a wide range of cars, climates, and altitudes. So in other words they are not ideal. You would have to get a Protune to fine tune your car to your mods.

In the end getting what Ecutek is offering, and more. For roughly the same price too.

Cobb maps are generic. You can have a tuner send you a map via mail or tune live just like the ECUTEK stuff now. BUT, you also get a accessport and switch maps with that, reset the ecu and read trouble codes. And you mentioned street tuner. You have no such option to self tune if you go with ECUTEK. Just this weekend I spent time and made myself a low boost map. What additional cost did it cost me? Nothing.. And it was fun too.

As far as I know the pricing was set by EcuTek and will be consistant ampng all dealers. LMK if you do not see that as the case. Thanks.

I will PM you Ben, but that is not what I meant. I took it as they hadn't explored the option as of yet, and that they may not offer it as an option. Not that you wouldn't provide the product for them. I am ready to buy, being that I'm in deep already with Ecutek, and very pleased with the product. I have read all the arguments, and they are valid, but I'm probably the target: extremely limited knowledge of tuning, previous ecutek liscense owner, happy with the product, wanting only two or three maps, and almost 0 track time (maybe once a year). My point was is it optional for tuners to take part in this product? I'm not talking about holding a gun to a tuners head----I know ultimately they can do what the hell they want. But PDX and Kingpin are ready to go, and I could get it from them, but they will charge me more because they didn't sell the original liscense to me.

Our price for Easy ECU is the same if you bought the orginal liscense from us or any other EcuTek Dealer. Thanks.

Quote PDX Tuning.........
There are two distinct EasyECU products.

The first product contains the EasyECU as well as the EcuTek flash license. This is the product for any new customers wanting to get a reflash. The suggested price for this product is $599. As we do with other products, we sell the base product, as well as a custom map for your modifications for an additional $150.

The second product is an upgrade version for users that already have an EcuTek reflash license. Since purchasing an upgrade requries that we have the map on your car, we are offering the upgrade in two methods.

Method 1: You purchased your EcuTek license and maps from us (either custom shelf maps, or custom dyno tuned maps). If this is the case, we will sell you the Easy ECU upgrade for $350, which includes the map currently on your car, plus our usual selection of extra maps (valet, low boost/economy, antitheft, hiperf)

Method 2: You purchased your EcuTek license and map from another tuner. Since we do not have access to the map on your ECU, we will have to provide you with a new selection of maps, as well as the Easy ECU hardware. The price for this upgrade is $500.

Here is a simpler summary list of the prices:

STI/WRX/Legacy EasyECU Flash + DeltaDash + EcuTek Maps, Includes Flash License $599.00

STI/WRX/Legacy EasyECU Flash + DeltaDash + EcuTek Maps, Includes Flash License + PDXTuning Maps (4 Total) $749.00

STI/WRX/Legacy EasyECU UPGRADE Flash + DeltaDash + Your Current PDXTuning Maps ( AVAILABLE ONLY TO CUSTOMERS WHO PURCHASED THEIR LICENSE AND MAP FROM US) $350.00

STI/WRX/Legacy EasyECU UPGRADE Flash + DeltaDash + NEW PDXTuning Maps (4 Total) $450.00

Ecutek Reflash without EasyECU, with Single PDXTuning Map $550.00

Jeff

Am i missing something?? The pricing is a bit much, but I'm bought in already. I already stated that. But I'm in Florida......any suggestions for someone if there tuner will not participate?

no no i think alot of people will find 350 way too much for the upgrade

if you look back at cobb befor they had the access port flashes were 400 (vs 599 for ecutek) then to add on the AP was a 195 upgrade vs 350? plus you need a laptop

you get delta dash .. with the ecutek but is it worth the extra $150

I think people are also missing the other point. $599-$350=$249 So basically, we've been overpaying all this time for those EcuTek licenses people already own. Gota love that.

Well, enough of this...

How much do you make an hour? Sorry, how much do you think you are WORTH an hour ??? Do YOU have experience in your field? I presume, that has to be worth something?? But wait a second, have all of those past years that you have been gathering experience in your field at a lower salary mean that you have been underpaid since then all this time? Have you been ripped off?

How much does your employer have to pay to have you work for them (tax, liability, insurances,... ) Come-on !

Oh, I forgot, what about the Dyno payment at the end of the month, rent, electricity... do I have really have to keep going ?

Did you forgot that someone has to pay your salary and SIGN that check that you deposit every week?

No, it's not all profit, there is much more to it than you can understand apparently ... I think.

How about we do this for now on, every company in the world sell everythiing at cost price for me, for you, and for all of us...? Great, now that check that your deposit as a pay every week will bounce back and you end up with nothing... brilliant.

Gotta love that to !

cost of manufacture and demand are not linked
supply and demand are

"build it and they will come" only happens in bad movies

then i guess we all have been over paying for cobb streettuner also, considering it is now $195?

i never realized that when a company lowers their price to meet a demand from customers that they then get slammed for making too much money...

regardless of me using their product or not, if i was aware of someone making the same remark about cobb or anyone else, i would feel the same way...

talk about a lose/lose situation!

:amen:
you forgot r&d.

now to my issue, I own a license, I own deltadash, I'd love to be able to tune it reliably (open ecu seems to lack in a coupla areas) and you know me already, Ben, we're the guys from Plainfield/Joliet, Illinois. It was a while, I know, but what can a consumer (me) expect to pay for this live tuning software?

Thanks,
