Now, here's a real newbie question.
The illustration of the rally car at the top of this page, and several photos - all unclear! - of rally specials I've seen, show a scoop of some sort on the roof? Is that a small airvent (in substitution of a sunroof, which can't be installed because of the roof's rollover reinforcement)?
Whatever it is, anyone installed one? How d'you like it?

yep it's an airvent... not all that practical in our cars with AC though. There are a few people in here running them. If you'd like to look at pictures/purchase one, I know Primitive has them.

it's an air vent...
you cut a hole in the roof, and place in the air vent
the air vent has a lever to allow air to rush in if you desire.
and then if you want to be stylish, add the scoop - which also helps keep out the water in heavy rain - that's what you're seeing... the roof scoop...
and...they work great because believe me, it gets HOT inside those race suits... especially when your adrenaline gets going...
unfortunately, i cant install one on my rally car as it's against the Production rules in SCCA... oh well - guess i'll just sweat to death! :D
there's tons of pics on my site in the rally section where you can see this good and up close... i'll go find one for ya...

Some people say that hood vents are 'ricey'...I like em though.:)

Now, THAT'S a modification worth doing - unlike those dorky rear spoilers :D
Thanks for your prompt replies.
