Hey guys, whats goin on.

Just bolted up an STi catback to my wrx. I dont wanna go with an aftermarket set up right now until about 2k miles when my engine is fully broken in, however I cannot deal with how quiet the car is. In the future im doing a catless dp with cobb cat back, but for now i just have the sti cat back.

What i wanna do is have the resonator cut up, and a mid pipe fabbed up for now. My only question is how much louder do you guys think this will make the set up? is it worth my time? It will cost around 50bucks to have done.

I just wanna little sound gain before i go with the turbo back, something to hold me over, heh.

Let me know what you guys think!

Not worth the time. Just get a catback you'll be fine.

i cant yet tho, I dont wanna do power mods until the car is broken in, only 400 miles on it.

An spt tuner instructed me not to touch power mods until around 2k miles, and not to tune or change the ecu until about 4 k miles

Wow a little box told you that?

600 miles change the oil. @ 1k miles let the mods began.

Go out and drive your car a bunch while waiting for your full TBE to come in along with your Cobb AP. Install and enjoy. :)

I'd go to 1K for the oil and then start the mods...+ what kind of break-in regimen? Low and slow...stay slow!

Need to vary the RPMs, but don't abuse anything.

Why not start with engine management and a new exhaust? That will net you more power and more noise, and it will serve as a foundation for further building.

My 06 was Stage 2 before 1,000 miles and will be Stage 3 before 2,000 miles. It would have been modified sooner I just couldn't get the parts fast enough.

The whole 1000 mile engine break-in rule is bunk IMO. If you did anything in that time to kill the motor prematurely, it was going to die anyway. All that really happens is you end up with a weak motor overall. I might avoid putting on a big-ass turbo right away, but stage 2 I did within a couple weeks after picking up the car.

just get a turboback w/o a resonator. I would go helix/invidia dp and invidia race non-resonated/vibrant catback.
I have had a blitz nur spec RX (2 resonators) and blitz titanium dp however I soon traded my catback for a VIBRANT  Now were talking. Trust me, you wont go wrong with invidia race/vibrant.
