Got Torque?

I have a 2004 STi, and my mods so far ( to the motor at least ) include cobb intake, txs turbo back exhaust, and an access port. I was wondering if anyone knows if the new spt intake is better than the cobb, and also if the newly released heat shield really does what spt is claiming... that it completely seals off the hot air and allows the filter to pull directly from the fenderwell. It has been my experience despite what some people say, that cold air intakes are reletively pointless on a turbocharged car, since the turbo super-heats the air anyway, and that the intercooler is a much more efficient way to reduce intake temps. However, colder air IS denser in oxygen content that hot air, even if it is before the turbo. So, I guess my only real hope is that the heat shield will just give more consistent temperature readings, and allow a decent reduction of the intake temps while allowing me to keep my short ram and the benefit that it carries...small piping distance from the filter to the turbo for quicker spool. Also, will the heat shield work with my intake?, seeing as how it probably routes the same way as the spt. Any pics of it installed or links would be appreciated. Thanks.

I do hear Cobb is working on a heatshield that shouldnt show too many production delays.

I must admit, i'd really like to see someone independant back up SPT's claims of improvment.
