First let me tell you my mods. SZ55, PE850 injectors, fuel pump, perrin big maf, front mount, catless turboback, access portw/street tuner and wideband 02.

My problem is this car is my daily driver. even when i dont rip it my sti only gets 11mpg at best. im going to get my car retuned when i add my methonal kit in about a month but in the meantime can i reset my ecu to factory settings to get better milage without hurting anything. please help me out.
thanks
jason

It's possible to do so without anything going wrong, but it would probably be best to leave the ecu on your tuned map. If you have a street tuner, why don't you fix the problem? Why get a street tuner and wbo2 kit if you're not going to tune your car? You shouldn't be getting that kinda mileage. What's your a/f ratio and timing like at cruise? If it's close to stock a/f ratio and timing, I don't really see how puting a stock map in would help anything. Maybe you should look at the way you drive?

no you can't reset to factory settings. You have a bigger MAF, and bigger injectors . ..

i bought the car with the street tuner and wb02 on it. i scared to use it an jack somthin up. i want to get it dynoed and retuned but im in school right now and will be moving in a month to GA. i wanted to wait till i get there. can i tune myself with just a little bit of research using this system. what can i do to get just a little better milage.

was the car ever tuned at all? sounds like you're running uber rich to only get 11mpg's. . . if you stay out of boost you should be able to attain much better mpg's if your car is tuned for 14.7:1 AFR's in closed loop fueling (idling and light throttle/cruise).

at idle and light throttle/cruise are you at 14.7:1 AFR?

If the car was tuned normally, it should be getting the best mileage it's gonna get. Check the a/f ratio while at part throttle. It should be about 14.7 to 1 while on throttle. If it's richer, that's your problem. If not, the problem is probably has to do with your driving. Course this is all just my opinion....
