View Full Version : CEL when restart hot...

I have a problem with my car, I tried searching here but didn't find the answers I needed.

My car is a Impreza GT my00 from Sweden. 2.0t

So, to my problem.
When i restart my car and the engine is hot i get a CEL.

I have pulled the codes manually by connecting the cables by the ECU, I get code 22, 23 and 32. The codes tell me that my Maf-sensor, O2-sensor and Knock-sensor are faulty. This only happens when it's hot and i restart after i.e. refilling the fuel.

When the CEL is on all the power is gone, no Limp Home Mode but the power is lost.

Any ideas on what could be wrong?

I have changed the ECU, the MAF, and the O2-sensor and still the same, the Knock-sensor has been tested by my local Subaru workshop and they said it was OK.

I have a 3" DP, 3" fullflow cat, and a 2.5" fullflow cataback exhaust. I have changed the original airfilter to a K&N panel-filter and I am using a Dawes Device which puts the boost to 0.95bar which if I can remember should be about 13psi?!

Thanks for this super-forum...

Sorry for my bad english, Im from Sweden... ;)

//Mattias in Sweden who would be very happy if the car could start working again...

How long did you use the boost controller before you started getting CELs? Have you tried going back to stock boost control? If the CELs go away that gives you a clue.

You may have to invest in some kind of flash for your ECU. I expect Ecutek supports yours but you may have to do some searching to find out if openECU tools will work.

Ecutek works fine with our Imprezas but I'm lookin at a Link system where as I understand it I change the whole ECU. If I use the Link I can remove the Maf and the O2-sensor, i believe this is the way I'm going to go...

The CEL came after I blew my first MAF, since that the CEL doesn't whan't to go away, sometimes it's there, sometimes it isn't...

Thanks for the responce.

sounds like it could be a wiring problem. when wires get hot the resistance goes up so a problem can appear when the car is hot and not when it is cold. I would reccomend cleaning the connections for each sensor and then looking at how much resistance is in the wires when the car is cold and then how much is there when it is hot.

good luck! :-)

Thanks for all the help you have provided so far... :)

I will test the contact to all the sensors and see if that helps...

Thanks again.
