I don't own one, however, I am being hopeful for next year!

A good buddy of mine is in the market for an STI. He doesnt belong to NASIOC just yet, but I have been telling him to check on here for facts, opinions and reviews of the Pink Badged Machine...From the best around...

So--Drop a line and lets here why you LOVE your STI !

(If I had one, My reason would be for the Hott Factor  )...

Thanks!:disco:

speed/handling/winter capabilities

Why I love it over the other subaru models? the 6 speed tranny.

...You know, the more I think about the STi I "owned" for three days, the more I remember that tranny.

That, and the beotchin' suspension.

Out of the box, the STi is really amazing for a sub-40k dollar vehicle.

Having a wagon with full suspension, Cobb TBE/stage II, and a host of other goodies, I still can't help but think about the six speed. (And those rediculous tires it came with. Can you say, "B E E F Y?")

The six speed...oooh the six speeeeed.

I may drop a 6 speed, diffs, & dccd in the 'ol 9-2x before I do any more engine mods. Hmmmm...

It's the first car I've owned that has enough power to scare me sometimes. And even though it has a lot of power and handles very well it still has a lot of potential.

I like the "oh isht!" reactions that I get from people when I give them a ride.

I also like blowing the doors off school busses full of kids in school zones right after school is let out.:D

I used to drive an 02 WRX, and I can say without a doubt, that the STi is WAY more fun to drive.

I enjoy looking at it, sitting in it, and especially driving it. Quick off the line and holds corners like a slot car.

I could have purchased any 40k car... Even though I was already driving a subaru, before I purchased my STi, I test drove an 06 MR and an 05 S4 (AWD is a must for me). The STi kicked both out of contention.

It's nice to be able to pass cars and not worry about it.
The rush of acceleration when passing above cars.
The handling is good stock, but after a the swaybar upgrade it's OMG
The anticipation of getting that new part to put in... It's like waiting for Christmas
Actually putting the new part in... and being totally impressed all over again.

It's easily the most capable all around vehicle I've ever owned, and for that matter, driven. I really enjoyed a buddy's Boxster S (we swapped for a weekend) and that car does outhandle the porkier STI in the dry, but I can't imagine it'd be much fun in the wet. When I showed him the paperwork on mine (he really didn't believe the deal I got) he just about cried.

It's a no-compromise / compromise sort of vehicle in that it really does have some hard edges and serious capabilities, but is also rather forgiving.

It represents a pinnacle of automotive engineering yet is quite affordable.

I could never have envisioned that the company that made my first car ('85 GL-10 turbo wagon), purchased when I was 19 by my own hard earned cash, would ever produce a vehicle 20 years (damn I'm old) later that even shares the same marque. Makes me smile every time I think about that. Almost as much simply driving it every day.
