This provision allows for external wastegate gases to be vented back into the downpipe. Sorry about that. The suggested redline of 8k is totally ok with the EJ205 forged. Reason being:

1. Race balanced crankshaft
2. Gruppe-S Race bearings
3. Much lighter rotating assembly

Of course your cams / valvetrain will have to be able to sustain such revs.
