Hi guys,
I was using a standard bug and tar cleaner to clean all the bugs left on my bumper and hood. I sprayed the cleaner onto the hood and srubbed all of it off with a standard sponge that we use to clean dishes. AFter I soapped and washed the car the front and bumper have a ton of haze over it and i cant wipe it off and I do not know if the soap sponge can cause any scratches. I used the rougher side of the sponge to clean the bugs off and I was just wondering if anyone know why I have tons of haze that I can get rid off.
please advise
thanks

yes, bug and tar cleaner can damage paint - they almost always come with a warning to try them somewhere inconspicuous first to make sure they are ok.
By the rougher side of the standard sponge you use to do dishes, I really hope you don't mean one of the sponges which is scotch-brite on one side, and sponge on the other - if so, you probably scratched the bajesus out of your paint, which could also give you a haze.
try a swirl mark remover first to see if that takes it off - if it doesn't, maybe try something more abrasive like a fine cut rubbing compound (best bet is to find a good detailer and let them deal with it, though)

i just went out to inspect my car, it seems the sponge is what caused the haze. I used a sponge that is yellow on one side and on the other side it is green with a rougher surface, I figure that would remove the bugs better and my window seems to be scratched too because I used that thing to clean the windows as well. Now I have 2 questions can glass scratches and headlight scratches be removed by some fix and can a buff at a detail ship help with the scratches on the paint?
You used the green side on the paint?
Headlight scratches can definitely be taken out with a plastic polish. I am not sure if glass can be cleaned up... Depending on how bad you scratched the paint, a buff job at a detail shop should be able to take care of it.

seriously though, that was one of the smartest moves ive ever heard about
....I would seriously stop what you're doing and read the articles contained in the following link before trying anything on your own:

The other alternative is to bring it to a professional as you mentioned.

You should not be detailing your own cars. That is as bad as the guy at my work that used a scotch brite pad on his hood thinking it would get the tree sap out.
