2006 Subaru WRX, previously stock:
First off, kudos to Gslben for the awesome deal and free overnight shipping.
Second, I have to say I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
I installed it by myself and the whole process took about 30 minutes (including 10 minutes for the WD-40 to work its magic).
Once I had the stock axleback off, putting the Scoobysport on was a matter of 3 or 4 minutes. Everything fit perfectly and the tip came out exactly where the stocker did.
Due to the anti-bling muffler, I think it actually looks MORE stock than the stock muffler did. But once you get up over 3000 rpms, the difference is clear. A deep boxer growl all the way to redline, without a hint of raspiness or popping.....exactly what I wanted.
Flame me if you want for spending $425 on a used muffler, but it was worth every cent. I intend to leave the downpipe alone until my warranty is over/voided, but I simply couldn't resist picking up a genuine Hayward and Scott Scoobysport back box (these days, Janspeed has taken over production).
Until 36,000 miles (currently at 5000), mods will not go beyond Stage 1 with a Kartboy shortshifter, so this was something I was itching to do. It felt good to jack up the car and get my hands dirty, its like therapy for me, and I'm sure some of you can relate.
I'd recommend this muffler to anyone who is seeking that true boxer rumble. Pretty much my only other choice would have been a Prodrive, but even with the boring looks and the extra $$, every time I make a run to 6k, I'm positive I made the right choice.
